List 2: Here are 4 Interesting Books to Read

pile of books

Welcome to round 2 of books recommendation. In my first round, I recommended books that are more philosophical or related to personal and mental perspectives. This round will target business books 😉 Books that will provide business/financial insights or tips to develop better business strategies.

Are you in for this round!! 🥁 🥁

Book #1: The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Written in the 5th century BC, The Art of War is one of the most ancient books but still holds great value. In his book, Sun Tzu provides military strategies for the Chinese emperor to win wars. This book was studied by the military all around the world. As the business environment can be also considered a war zone too, this book can be found in several interpretations for women, managers, executives, and sales… The Art of War targets topics such as resource allocation, studying the land (market), understanding the enemy ( competitive strategy) and many more.

One of my favourite quotes in this book: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Book #2: Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

ln his book, Robert shares the teaching of his friend’s rich dad. He reveals some tips to escape the rat race and changes the ideology concerning stability and money. This book target topics such as financial literacy, investment and career path.

One of my favourite quotes in this book is: “In school, we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down. If we never fell down, we would never walk.”

Book #3: Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher and William Ury

Are you looking to master the art of negotiation? That is one of the fundamental books in this department. The book follows the principled negotiation method where a win-win agreement is reached. Following this method, parties identify the fixed needs and flexible needs to find a common ground.

One of my favourite quotes in this book is: “People listen better if they feel that you have understood them. They tend to think that those who understand them are intelligent and sympathetic people whose own opinions may be worth listening to. So if you want the other side to appreciate your interests, begin by demonstrating that you appreciate theirs.”

Book #4: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

This book describes the power of beliefs and the human brain to reach career and monetary success. It is the result of a study made on 500 millionaires based on which the author inferred the law of success that is represented by 13 principles.

One of my favourite quotes in this book is: “The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat.”

Conclusion

This was our second list of recommendations. Have you read any of those books previously? Do you have a favourite book that impacted you and you would like to share it with us in the comment section?
